Learning how to see through each others eyes…
During a collaborative one month residency at Blindside Gallery, Shae Rooke and Lizzy Sampson created artwork using viewing devices. Not knowing exactly where to start or where their ideas would end, their props included magnifying glasses, orienteering arrows, the camera obscure, found objects and binoculars. This fruitful month of experimentation led to an exhibition of video, photography, a forest of viewing devices and a developmental blog documenting the entire journey.
Navigating, a video work from this residency was shortlisted for the Redlands Konica MinoltaPrize at the National Art School Gallery, Sydney.
