BLINDVIEWS
Learning to see through each others eyes…
During a collaborative one month residency at Blindside Gallery 2013, Shae Rooke and Lizzy Sampson created artwork using viewing devices as their starting point. Not knowing exactly where to start or where their ideas would end, their props included magnifying glasses, orienteering arrows, the camera obscura, found objects and binoculars. Their experimentations led to led to an exhibition at BLINDSIDE of video, photography, a forest of viewing devices and a developmental blog documenting the entire journey.
Navigating, a video work from this residency was shortlisted for the Redlands Konica MinoltaPrize at the National Art School Gallery, Sydney 2014.
